Ferrari 296 GTB: don't call it Dino

 For years the rumor had circulated, gone, returned: Ferrari is working on a car with a V6 engine, a new Dino. Here it is finally this first Ferrari of road V6. The least we can say is that it is not at all a downgrade. On the contrary, the 296 GTB comes to shake up a nascent market but especially the other Ferraris themselves.

Ferrari is therefore inaugurating a 100% new block with this 3-liter V6, coupled to a rechargeable electric motor. To avoid selling a 306 and a trial with Peugeot, it will officially settle for 2.9 liters even if it is 2992 cm 3 . Open at 120 °, it accommodates its turbochargers in the center of the V. It develops 663 horsepower, ie an incredible unit output of 221hp / liter, a world record. The heat engine runs at 8,500 rpm, faster than a lot of atmospheric blocks. The cumulative power is 830 horsepower.
