An electric Bugatti? It's not for now

Despite the merger with Rimac, a Croatian manufacturer specializing in electric hypercars, Bugatti does not plan to produce an electric car before at least 2030. Good news for all purists. A young Croatian entrepreneur who has gone from shadow to light in a few years, Mate Rimac is now at the head of the Bugatti Rimac joint venture. A heavy legacy for the man who founded his eponymous brand only 13 years ago, after having made his mark by integrating an electric motor into his 1984 BMW Serie3 Type E30.Specialized in the production of electric sports cars and recognized worldwide, the Rimac company, through its boss, is now the decision maker regarding the future of Bugatti. If we could imagine that this would favor the passage of Bugatti towards the electric, it seems that Mate Rimac has other projects for the French brand. The young boss (34) has just announced that Bugatti has no purely electric car or SUV planned in its ten-year plan. In other words, there won't be an electric Bugatti until at least 2030.
