DISAPPEARANCE OF ELIZABETH II: RAIN OF TRIBUTE FROM F1 IN MEMORY OF THE BRITISH SOVEREIGN

Formula 1 mourns the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The latter died in the afternoon of September 8 at the age of 96. Since the announcement of his death, drivers and teams have published a multitude of tributes on social networks. It must be said that - as for a multitude of other fields - the queen was a witness to the birth of this sport. Realize that she attended the first official race of the discipline in 1950 on the Silverstone circuit and that she ennobled the giants of this sport (Frank Williams, Lewis Hamilton, Stirling Moss in particular). It therefore went without saying that the paddock, so present on British lands, take the floor. From the director of F1, to the drivers, passing through the teams, including the Scuderia Ferrari.

F1 director Stefano Domenicali:

Formula 1 mourns the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. For more than seven decades, she dedicated her life to public service with dignity and dedication and inspired so many around the world. Formula 1 sends its deepest condolences to the Royal Family and people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.
