Hyundai Ioniq 5 N: a sporty version with 650 horsepower!
range since the I20, I30 and Veloster were entitled to vitaminized and optimized versions. Now, it seems that the Korean manufacturer wants to apply this recipe for success to electric vehicles, starting with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N that we discover together on Abcacteur.
Specific treatment
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N does not go unnoticed, it is the case to say it since its proportions change. The Ioniq 5 becomes 20mm lower, 50mm wider and 80mm longer. Changes mainly related to the specific body kit with new front and rear bumpers, an air diffuser, a spoiler which all result from work in the wind tunnel. The modern look of the Ioniq 5 now becomes very aggressive with this N treatment.
Especially since it is fitted with 21-inch forged aluminum rims with Pirelli P-Zero 275/35R21 tires. Another sporty detail, the brake calipers are red. They pinch 400mm discs in the front and 360mm in the rear. They act in addition to the regenerative braking which can reach the power of 0.6G on deceleration.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N has two electric motors, the first is at the front with 226 horsepower while the second is at the rear and offers the power of 383 horsepower. The cumulative power is therefore logically 609 horsepower, but with the N Grin Boost function activated, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N can reach 650 horsepower and a torque of 770 Nm. The maximum speed is 258 km/h, the 0 to 100 km /h is 3.4 seconds, helped by the grip provided by its 4-wheel drive.
The battery is 84 kWh. It should provide a range of 450 km but Hyundai has not yet communicated on this point.
The driving modes are adapted to this new sporty version with a Race mode, Launch Control, Drift mode, variable torque distribution. Finally, a sound generator is present in the speakers reproducing the song of the 2.0l of the thermal I30N or the Label N noise of the R22e.
